About the position:
Lofoten Prestige offers luxury lodges in the breathtaking Lofoten Islands, providing guests with an unforgettable experience amidst pristine nature. Each lodge is equipped with premium amenities, including outdoor saunas and jacuzzis, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Resort Caretaker to oversee the technical maintenance and general upkeep of our lodges. The ideal candidate will ensure that all facilities are in excellent condition, promptly address guests' technical requests and emergencies, and maintain a safe and welcoming environment. This role requires someone who is brave and open-minded, ready to take on unexpected challenges in a remote and ever-changing environment. Whether it’s handling a sudden technical issue, assisting guests with unique requests, or adapting to life in the wild beauty of Lofoten, we need someone who is resourceful and ready for adventure.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Guest Support: Respond promptly to guests' technical requests and emergencies, providing effective solutions to enhance their stay.
- Janitorial Duties: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of common areas, including regular cleaning, waste disposal, and restocking of supplies.
- Facility Upkeep: Oversee the maintenance of outdoor amenities such as saunas and jacuzzis, ensuring they are clean and operational.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct regular safety checks, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective measures in line with health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and liaise with the management team to report on maintenance activities and guest feedback.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in property maintenance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A courageous and adaptable mindset – ready to handle technical challenges and unpredictable situations with confidence.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Open-mindedness to embrace the unique and dynamic nature of life in Lofoten.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as needed.
